When we follow Jesus, we love those that he loves. He embrace the people that Jesus invites into our lives and into our oikos. But what happens then? We realize very quickly that we can’t heal people or set them free. This week we look at the story of a group of friends who lived in 30 AD, and how they cared for their friend when his pain was bigger than they could heal.

We know that being a Christian is about following Jesus, but what does that mean? It’s common to just follow Jesus as a topic - keeping tabs on what God and the church are up to. But, as we begin our read of the Book of Mark we realize that to follow in something more hands-on and life changing than that. Today we begin a new conversation about what it means to follow Jesus like he is all that matters.
