Bridge City Ethos, #8
"Core Values - Creativity"
Kevin Brusett
The final core value in the Bridge City ethos is Creativity. "Creativity results from Spiritual Growth." We often think that creativity is the realm of artists, but the truth is that the more we trust Jesus with out lives, the more creative we become as we strive for excellence in living out our mission in life.

The next core value in the Bridge City ethos is Compassion. "Love Takes Action." Jesus taught his disciples very clearly that following Him wasn't just about them. A big part of the story was how they served the people around them. Jesus stood clearly in line with the Old Testament prophets, saying that the way we care for those who can't speak for themselves, and those on the margins, express our understanding of God's heart. While there are a lot of ways to engage this part of our faith, all of them come down to a moment of obedience. Will we respond to God when He asks us to serve the people around us?
The last 15 minutes of the video includes the interview with Nathan and Candi Burton about the adventure they are currently on of serving a homeless couple. It's a powerful conversation that we'd love you to be a part of.

"Core Values - Community"

The next core value in the Bridge City ethos is Community. "Following Jesus Happens In Community." The evidence in scripture is powerful. Christianity was never meant to be a private dogma or personal experience. When we follow Jesus we become part of a body. We are now connected in a way we weren't before. Everything that we are called to do as Christians happens in the context of relationship. Instead of being able to live a perfect life as measured by our own preferences, we are called to live an open life where we actively engage each other, even when things are hard.
