The biggest promise made in scripture, the one that might be the hardest for some to get their heads around, is the promise of eternal life. Jesus promised His followers that He would return for them, and take them to be with Him forever. This promise is really about the end of death - and that means it's about the end of fear. When we face loss and pain, the power of the resurrection is available to us today.

One of the most significant words of encouragement from scripture is that God loves us beyond everything we can imagine. This provides the basis of trust and courage that we need for everything else. We are loved more intensely than any parent can ever love. That's really good news.
